SEMANAT in practice
B2B plastics sourcing and material selection

Plastics matched to your process.

Send us your enquiry and tell us what the material is for. We propose a suitable material — virgin, recycled or off-grade — or, where no standard grade fits, a blend or modification worked out with a plastics technologist. Availability and terms are confirmed with the supplier for each enquiry; suitability for your part is confirmed in a trial.

What SEMANAT does

SOURCING

Market search by specification and application.

SELECTION

A material proposal based on your part, process and requirements.

BLENDS

Where no standard grade fits: a proposed blend or modification, worked out with a plastics technologist.

SUPPLY

One-off lots or recurring supply, on terms agreed for each enquiry.

Material selection

You don’t need to know the exact grade

Tell us what you make, how you process it and what the finished part has to do. That is enough for us to start selecting or sourcing a material.

Useful details to start with:

Not every set of requirements can be met by a single material. We will tell you plainly what is realistic and where a compromise, a blend or a modification would be needed.

APPLICATIONWhat you make and what kind of part it is: a housing, a technical component, film or packaging.
PROCESSProcessing method and conditions: injection moulding, extrusion, blow moulding, thermoforming.
REQUIREMENTSWhat the product must deliver: stiffness, impact strength, temperature resistance, colour, material origin.
How we can help

From application requirements to material on your line

Three levels of support — choose where you want to start.

Material sourcing

You know what you need

We source materials by specification, processing method, application, volume and budget — from a single lot to a recurring stream.

Application matching

You know the part, not the grade

We start from your application and product requirements, not from a trade name.

Material selection and blend recommendations

No standard grade fits

With a plastics technologist, we look at modification options for your part. We develop material or blend proposals based on your requirements. Availability and supply arrangements are confirmed individually.

Material

We propose a material — or a blend where no standard grade fits.

03

Qualification

Documents, a sample or a trial in your production — as the case requires.

04

Offer

We confirm availability, quantity and terms with the supplier.

05

Delivery

A one-off lot or regular supply.

For Suppliers

Have material to offer?

Regranulate, regrind, off-grade, surplus stock or a recurring material stream? Send us the key parameters and the volume available.

Material selection and blend recommendations

When a standard grade is not enough

An off-the-shelf grade will not suit every application. Together with an experienced plastics technologist, we analyse what the application requires and propose a modification or a blend formulation. A proposal is a starting point for trials, not a finished compound; whether it is produced, and by whom, is agreed case by case.

Need more stiffness, better impact strength or the right glass-fibre content for a specific part? A question like that is a good place to start.

Examples of what we work on:

We confirm the scope of work, and whether a solution is feasible, case by case.

Why SEMANAT

What makes SEMANAT’s approach different

Port terminal with a container ship and a trailer — international material sources

Not tied to a single product catalogue

We search the market — producers, distributors and industrial lots — rather than fitting your requirement to one product list.

We talk about your application, not just a grade name

We start from what your product and process require. The trade name is the outcome, not the precondition.

Sourcing backed by technical know-how

Material selection and blend proposals are supported by an experienced plastics technologist who works with SEMANAT.
